There’s an ocean on the sun
Everybody runs along its burning beaches

The kids come out to play, and they stay out all day
Raising hell, catching waves, blazing in the bay
Everybody’s sorry, but they don’t know what to say

There’s an ocean on the sun
Everybody runs along its burning beaches

The shore’s on fire, it’s littered with desire
You’re sinning with the saints, while you’re preaching to the choir
This race against time, might come down to the wire

There’s an ocean on the sun
Everybody runs along its burning beaches

Summer’s finally over, it’s time we all went home
Will your parents pick you up if you call them on the phone
We had so much fun together, but we’re better off alone

There’s an ocean on the sun
Everybody runs along its burning beaches

The sand’s too hot, your brain is frying
This is what you wanted, so I don’t know why you’re crying
This can’t go on forever, the universe is dying

There’s an ocean on the sun
Everybody runs along its burning beaches
